Kinney Family Update

Brody had jaundice for a few days after his birth. The poor guy had to get his blood taken everyday for the first week of his life. He had to lay on a baby tanning bed that emitted a certain wavelength of light that would break down the pigment causing the jaundice. He hated it and luckily it only lasted for a couple of days. But he is all better. He looks exactly like Noah did as a newborn.

The change has been hard on Noah. For the last 16 months he has slept a solid 12 hours a night. The only time that he wakes up is if he is sick. Well, starting last week he has started waking up and screaming for a couple of hours during the night. I think that he finally understands that we take care of Brody everytime that he cries and so he thinks that we should take care of him everytime he cries, too. Other than that, Noah is taking the change very well. He likes to kiss Brody on the head and give him "knuckles".

Kelsey has recovered well from the delivery. She is still sore but she is getting better. I'm just glad that I don't have to do what she did. I almost passed out during the delivery. I had to sit down so that the doctor and nurses wouldn't have to attend to me. Kelsey needed all their attention. I know, I am weak sauce, but when I started to think about what was about to happen I just couldn't take it and I almost passed out.

Here is a picture of Noah.

Here is another of Brody.

He's Almost Here!... He's Here!

So it is 2:30 AM on Valentines Day and Brody is on the way. Kelsey is fully prepared to deliver this baby, but we are waiting for the doctor to show up. Kelsey's mom is also driving like a maniac through the snow to get here.
The final stages of this pregnancy have gone quickly. We were worried that it would take awhile and would be more dificult due to the fact that this is Kelsey's first natural pregnancy. Noah was a C-section.
This might be a premature post if it takes hours of pushing for the baby to come out. Lets all hope that he comes quickly once Kelsey starts pushing.

UPDATE:

Brody Kinney was born on February 14, 2008 at 3:48 AM. He is 8 lbs 11 oz and 22 inches long. He is a very healthy boy. He has curly blond hair.

Spaghetti

Noah pulled a piece of spaghetti out of his nose yesterday. Kelsey had no idea how it got in there and could only guess that it somehow resurfaced from the prior nights dinner. Noah is going to be a superstar at school if he can do the "pull the noodle through your nose and mouth" trick.

I just tried to find a picture of someone performing the noodle nose trick and I found something better. This lady is using the Nose Stretcher. It is a Japenese product that sucks your nose to make it longer. No joke.

So I am really excited for the upcoming MLS season. Go Real! I hope you can win a couple of games this year.
